A day in the garden

Yesterday we spent the morning at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden as part of my photography class. Scott and the kids went with me and took their own tour while I was with my class. We later got through and enjoyed some time together outside. It was a little cold but we had a nice day. This is a picture that I took and is the first picture I have "edited". I don't really enjoy that process at all, would rather just take a great photo using all of the in camera settings but editing can improve the photo. I added a few of the pictures that Luke and Lorelei took to FLICKR as well. They could be budding photographers.

We went to the park on Sunday and I was able to play and take pictures. It was great to get out in the sunshine and fresh air. I think my photography class is starting to pay off because all of these shots were taken in manual mode. Although some of the times I had to take 5 shots to get it right, it was fun being able to really control how I wanted to capture things. I love this shot because of the golden light - around 4:30 in the afternoon although it is probably a little underexposed. Kids don't want to wait for 5 shots to be taken, can you imagine that?
