Toronto or bust

Me and Lorelei - Glass floor

Tuesday was once again spent in the pleasurable company of the Talley’s. We had a great French toast breakfast and a relaxing morning before we headed back into Belleville for a visit to Tim Horton’s and a few other shopping excursions. Tim Horton’s is to Canadians what Starbucks is to Americans. The added bonus of Tim Horton’s over Starbucks is that they sell donuts. Now these are no Krispy Kreme donuts that only southerners understand but after a trial dozen have disappeared, we can firmly say that they are not bad and in my opinion way better than Dunkin Donuts.

We once again had another great dinner of Bratwurst, potatoes and salad although my delicate mouth could barely handle the heat of the non-spicy brats and potatoes. Everyone else was fine.  Pat made another round of delicious buns to take to Krista’s cousins house but we are forbidden from eating them en route to Toronto and beyond on Wednesday. More on that in a minute. We watched the Dancing with the Stars results show together and then the adults enjoyed a concert that consisted of ZZ Top, Queen and Bryan Adams. It was a very enjoyable last night together.

This morning, we had a great breakfast of homemade biscuits and eggs and said our goodbyes to the Talleys. We had a great time and were all sad to leave. We headed for Toronto and the ever darkening sky. We had no problems getting into Toronto but the parking lot where I originally had us parking wanted $50 to park the RV for the day. Of course we said they were out of their minds and we headed back towards the convention center to see what we could find. We ended up in the bus parking at the Roger's Center for $9 for the whole day and made our way over to the CN Tower. It was very overcast bu not raining yet and we bought tickets for the Lookout and glass floor. Krista is scared of heights and wanted nothing to do with the glass floor but was convinced otherwise and managed to have her picture taken. Liam wasn't scared AT ALL! The kids were both apprehensive at first and Lorelei eventually warmed up and was jumping on it and Luke agreed to have his picture taken but strangely they all have a look of fear in his eyes.

After the CN Tower, we headed for the Gooderham building so I could take a few photos and we could explore Toronto. I had heard from several people that Toronto was the cleanest city that they had ever been in. I would say it was comparable to San Diego. We saw trash, bums and pan handlers. Same as every other city we've ever been to. I am sure that I would have loved it even more had it not been raining. We left in the middle of rush hour and headed west toward St. George. We hit quite a bit of traffic but overall not bad and stopped for lunch at a KFC. We went in and got a bucket of chicken but up here, they sell macaroni salad - not macaroni and they sell some sort of green cole slaw and get this... NO BISCUITS!!! Can you believe fried chicken and mashed potatoes with no biscuits? So at this point, some of Pat's feather buns dissappeared. Their are over a dozen that arrived safe and sound but some of them did not make it.

We pulled into St. George around 7:30 where Ella, Lily, Rachelle and Steve were waiting for us (Chloe was sleeping). The kids got to play and the adults got to chat and all went to bed a little later than they should have. Looking forward to a nice day tomorrow.
